Debra Kam’s first encounter with clay was by chance, when she was given a pottery lesson while traveling in Japan.

She enjoys exploring the balance between modern and traditional form through both wheel-throwing and hand-building techniques. Debra is especially inspired by the medium’s tactile qualities and by how her work may be used.

She spends part of the year in Japan.
